The Mitsubishi J2M Raiden was designed for the purpose of land-based air defense fighter. The distinguished point of Raiden is that it is carrying a superpower output engine in which had been unparalleled in history of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service in those days. Because of the distinctive feature, Raiden was able to have a thick fuselage and small wings that enhance the performance of its movement. Raiden, heavily armed, had fought fiercely against B-29, had come to invade mainland in the end of the WWII.
